Researchers María José Domínguez Vázquez and Iván Arias Arias presented the ESMAS-ES+ project at the EUniWell workshop“Connecting the Dots: Multilingualism across EUniWell”, held at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Santiago de Compostela. Their contribution explored the role of multilingual approaches in the development of lexical resources and fostered collaboration across the EUniWell alliance.

Researchers from eight universities gathered at the University of Vigo’s Pontevedra campus to advance the Esmas-Es+ project, an initiative aimed at developing an automatic multilingual semantic tagging tool that helps computer systems understand the meaning of words and expressions more accurately. The project combines linguistics, artificial intelligence, and language technologies to create a prototype capable of automatically assigning semantic labels to texts.
